Jo Gibbs is a designer, craftswoman, artist and interior decorator. She trained at Chelsea Art College, and worked in Como, Italy for ten years, as a textile designer in high-end fashion. Returning to Britain, both disillusioned and inspired by the throwaway culture of fashion, Jo set up her own studio, dedicated to sourcing items of the highest quality and adding a stylish twist. Developing her own technique, which Jo calls "netching", she pinoneered a variety of ways of transferring patterns onto natural surfaces, including wood, slate, glass, metal and leather. Jo specialises in bespoke furniture and accepts commissions to transform entire rooms, homes and business premises. Jo also works with architects and interior designers, to add pattern and texture to pretty much any surface she is challenged to make special, unique and beautiful, while maintaining its own lustre, personality and function.
